Dean's Chalet - This is for Luis

Deanie organised a chalet for nuasters... No particular occassion for this chalet, just a little get together for the nuasters...


Vanilla being the only one who's not working and on holidays, met up with Deanie in the noon to buy the food items.

Deanie picked Vanilla up.....





He's covering his mouth coz he doesn't wana let Vanilla take a pic of his unshaven face!


But......





nyahahhahaha.... of coz Vanilla won!


They went down to this BBQ specialisation place .... Deanie said its geylang lorong 27...... (Right beside Aljunied MRT station)

they sell a pretty comprehensive list of items needed for bbq.....


this is their shop....





but in the end they only bought otah and a bag of teriyaki chicken sticks from them because they felt that maybe buying from the supermarkets ourselves will be cheaper and they wanted city satay...


As they were waiting for their orders, Deanie pointed out this machine to Vanilla....





Its a machine used to heat up otah (i think)....

haha.. *proud* coz they're both from SP!

After they got the stuff from there, they decided to head for lunch! Hee.. since City Satay is located along Tanjong Katong Road, Vanilla suggested they go for Katong Laksa


Deanie brought Vanilla to this 328 Katong Laksa...

Anyway, the laksa....





Yes, with cockles...


Lunch was good. After lunch, they went over to City Satay....





The sales people were pretty nice and friendly... they bought a bag of chicken, a bag of mutton and a bag of Seaweed chicken!


After City Satay, they proceeded to Shing Shong supermarket to buy the rest of the stuff required .....

They bought seafood!





Deanie almost wanted to buy the prawns at $16 per kg..





Vanilla stopped him.. so expensive! There were some that were much cheaper, around the same size but only $11 per kg!


Den they decided to buy one crab also... wasn't very expensive but they weren't exactly sure how to cook them...


Look at the ladies in the pic! They are so brave! A couple of them used their hands to touch and pick the crabs!





Hur.. of coz Vanilla gave Deanie the honour of selecting and picking up the crab...





Ahh... succeeded!





Den it was sting ray....





den for the butter... Deanie wanted to get Planta.. but because Planta changed their packaging.....





He refused to get Planta! So in the end they got butter...


Den Deanie went to get a can of lychee.. when he walked back Vanilla teased him by saying... " U ownself eat can already la..."


haha.... he LL walked back to get another can of longan!





They were done shopping by ard 4.20 pm.. had to rush to Changi by 5 pm to check into the chalet...


Its been a rainy day... got to Changi at ard 4.50 pm.... Deanie went to check in and get the keys...





Its the chalet for SAF members...


Upon entering the chalet, u can't help but be captivated by the scenery....




Beautiful!

The interior of the chalet... the first level....





Everything's pretty clean... comes with a kitchen and even cuttlery and utensils....


A spiral staircase dat links to the second floor where the rooms are.....





There are 2 rooms, 1 toilet at level 2....




After they were done exploring ard the chalet, Deanie brought the stuff that was bought to thaw......





Decided they were thristy and proceeded to drive over to the Changi Village Cheers to get ice cubes.


Went back to the chalet and made drinks for themselves... Deanie was adding Chivas to his drink already!





Hello!! Its only 5 plus leh!! lol


Den they started the marinating work....





or rather, Deanie started the marinating work coz he was the one who washed the chicken and marinated the chicken wings....


He was asking Vanilla ... " Hmm.. need to remove the feathers? "





Vanilla gave him a SHOCKED AND OBVIOUSLY NEED expression and told him... " dean! Obviously right? "


haha... he saw her expression, he went luffing away... -.O""


Vanilla helped to prepare the sting rays... (and having fun taking pics of the steps)...


Step 1 was spreading butter on the aluminium foil....





Step 2 was to spread the sambal chilli sauce.....





and place the sting ray on the foil....





also spread more chilli on the sting ray itself den wrap up!





because Vanilla dun eat chilli... they tried to experiment one w/o the sambal chilli sauces... added pepper and butter...





hur hur.. den as dean added Chivas to one of the sting ray he prepared, Vanilla requested to add some into hers as well!





Kindly note, NOT to follow any of the sting ray preparation steps above.. haha... u'll find out why further below....


and here's the food they prepared....





There's crabsticks, hotdogs, taiwan sausages, sting ray, prawns, marshmallows, otah, satay, seaweed japanese crispy chicken...


and of coz, Chicken wings!





Once the food were done, Deanie started preparing the pit...





coz it was raining and he didn't wana use the pits provided....


After all was done, all they had to do was to sit ard and wait for the rest to come... which the rest will definitely come only after 7.30 pm coz Haybe knocks off by that time and Andy went over to give her a ride...


So there were they...resting, watching tv.... reading the papers....

By ard.. 6.30 pm, despite knowing that the rest will only get here by ard 8 pm, Deanie started to start the fire already!

7.20 pm!





They decided to wait no more! haha... Deanie started to bbq already!





A whole feast of food and can see cannot touch.. how can?? lol....


The first round of food dat Deanie bbq-ed...





Yum yum!!


But his standard varies... haha... eg. hotdogs...





haha.. some pass, some fail one!


After eating her first otah, a fish bone got stuck in Vanilla's throat! It was painful!!! Slight irregular pain but just couldn't get it out... din koe wat to do either... called up haybe and andy, they got bobo and kendi to help vanilla buy some rice hoping that it'll help bring down the fishbone...


Hazel was the first to arrive..... she got here at ard 7 plus...





She also helped to buy corn and sweet potato (forgot to take a pic of it)....


den Andy and Haybe arrived...





my god! look at Andy's hair! haha... Its too long and it totally reminds us of those Hongkong movie's mainland china illegal immigrant! haha... I think one of Chow Yuen Fatt's movie is of this image! LOL


and the rice they helped Vanilla to buy.....





She guai guai eat up a few mouthfuls of the rice....

Deanie and andy were both suggesting she TA down the alcohol they brought... -.O"" of coz she din believe them! lol


She decided to bear with the pain since its kinda bearable....

As everyone was eating, Andy was very nice! He shelled the prawns for Vanilla....





and fed her! lol





Bobo arrived subsequently with Kendi.....





Kendi has also cut her fringe to a slanted style and rebonded her hair!

and everyone was teasing Andy about his hair... asking him to cut it.. but Vanilla told him she has HONESTLY seen people with such long thick hair and still look funky and stylo... den he began using his hands to brush his hair up and go round asking people if he looks stylo!





Alamak.. not in this outfit la! And gotta minus his ah beng-ish way of talking! haha..


and remember just now u were warned about the sting ray? haha.. This is the sting ray dat Deanie prepared.... with a different brand of chilli sauce which he said is power one.. and he added chivas....





Haybe had the honour of trying it first...

its edible but not tasty at all!


By the time everyone were kinda full... all the girls were sitting ard the pit bbq-ing.....





Marshmallows! haha.. trying to achieve the nicest crispy on the outside, melting soft on the inside marshmallow! haha...


After everyone's full.. MAHJONG TIME! haha.. Vanilla got andy to open the table and arrange the tiles...





Only to realise we don't have enuff kahs.. only Deanie, Andy and Vanilla know how to play.. the rest duno how to play and bobo doesnt wana play...


oh ya.. Vanilla and Haybe finally managed to pass Bobo his bday present.... though very belated....





They got him a belt from Armani... when they tried to get him to try it on and to take a pic of him in it, he said must adjust abit to make 'there' look big....





hahaha... totally hilarious!


bobo left shortly after with Kendi... Hazel also had her friend to pick her up coz she's gotta work tml....


So Andy, Deanie and Vanilla played 3 person mahjong...





The guyskept winning... Vanilla lost big time after like 2 rounds?


haha.. but den Luis came to save the day!





Luis arrived with his girlfriend Sharon and her doggie Jiao!





Jiao is cute! haha...





Anyway, Luis's arrival means they can stop the 3 person mahjong to play the normal mahjong coz he and Sharon both know how to play mahjong... and hahaha.. Andy and Dean cancelled off the previous losses! hahaha...


As Sharon, Deanie, Andy and vanilla played mahjong, Luis and Haybe went out to buy more beer... when Luis came back, he offered the beer to......





Jiao!


Haha...





Of coz, din feed it to Jiao la!


and because Andy's set of mahjong din have enuff chips, Andy suggested we jot down the winnings and losses using paper and pen....





hahaha... it was HILARIOUS coz he had a hard time keeping track, recording and calculating till he got blur! hahaha...


We finished one round of game mahjong at ard 2.50 am.....





What's there to do.. and haha.. Luis and Sharon have not had the bbq food....





So it was start fire! BBQ TIME AGAIN!





Strangely enuff, aside from us, there were at least 3 other groups of people also BBQ-ing away!





Haha.. is this norm for chalets? To start fire and start bbq-ing away at ard 3 am! haha....


As sharon was carrying Jiao, Vanilla tried to play some music using my mobile to see if Jiao reacts to it... She played songs like Holly Valence's Kiss Kiss and Kylie's Red Blooded Woman... haha.. Luis who was by the side said.. Jiao doesn't like Devilsbar music one! She likes techno! Music Underground music! haha..


He tried to prove it by playing techno using his mobile....





HAHAHHAA... Jiao TURNED HER HEAD AWAY! HAHAHHAHAHAHA


Luis and Sharon left with Jiao around awhile... Andy went to bed....


Deanie, Haybe and Vanilla chatted awhile about some common friends... Deanie went to bed shortly after as well....


Haybe and Vanilla continued chatting.


Halfway thru their chats, Andy suddenly woke up from his sleep and came looking for food....







haha.. he decided to sit ard and chat for the time frame of a smoke. When vanilla tried to take a pic of him.. he went... " don't take already.. already no one wants me already.. " haha..





we chatted about some common friends as well...


Haybe was playing with the mahjong tiles like it was building blocks....





After his smoke, Andy went back to sleep.. dat was already 5.30 am... Haybe and Vanilla also went upstairs to wash up and try to sleep...
